Let Love Replace Religion

…changing the face of religion as we know it…

Research shows that “Human beings have a deep desire to be connected to something greater than ourselves”
There is ‘no religion’ in heaven – just spiritual beings, who have transcended this life, with no attachments to any one religion.

On earth, we are all spiritual beings in a physical body. We have incarnated to develop ourselves, through our character to reach higher levels of fulfillment that brings happiness, to become a better person through love and generosity towards others.

Years ago religion was necessary to maintain order in society and to keep the masses from knowledge, learning and developing beyond their stations in life. Therefore people were generally kept down through fear  of the religious teachings who preached that God would punish people for not attending church or  who did not follow the Ten Commandments. Basically people lived in fear, they were frightened to step out of line frightened that they would be victimized and punished by the church and society. Therefore Religions played an enormous role in the past by controlling them through fear.

Taking a look at religion and spirituality, one would probably link the two very closely together, but in real terms the two are not connected at all. We all know what religion means; being a member of a church, an order, a tribe or congregation that has fixed beliefs of a particular God or Spirit and religion demands that one has to congregate weekly to stay connected to that order.

But spirituality is something quite different, and most people are not aware of this difference. Spirituality means ‘living your physical reality to the full’, if this is the true definition then perhaps spirituality is linked more to developing oneself firstly through self love, self awareness, confidence, self belief, and from that inner position of strength and power, love towards others in the world.

So why does the church and the world’s various religious orders, continue playing such a leading role in people’s lives today, when their approach to God, the Divine spirit has remained unchanged and has not recognised or incorporated the changes we have seen over the past decades, demonstrating that individuals are searching for something outside of themselves. People are feeling unfulfilled, restless and looking for answers to give more meaning to their life and they are not looking to religion to fill this gap, as churches have instead chosen to remain fixed and stuck in their teachings for centuries, totally shut off and unaware to accept that people today are looking for new approaches and alternative avenues to develop themselves.
